UNDP Maldives appoints FJS as local consultant to develop a fiscal formula for fiscal decentralization process

UNDP appoints FJS as local consultant to develop a fiscal formula for fiscal decentralization process in the Maldives. A study, for the Local Government Authority (LGA) and the Ministry of Finance, in association with Integrated Governance Programme supported by UNDP, commissioned to identify possible options for an allocation formula to provide island councils with financial resources – from the national budget – to execute their mandates as indicated in the Act on Decentralization of the Administrative Divisions of the Maldives. As the local consultant of the project FJS worked alongside the international consultant for the project on drafting a fiscal formula, presenting fiscal formula to stakeholders and finalizing fiscal formula to provide island councils with financial resources.
