UNDP signs contract with FJS to develop climate change advocacy materials for schools and youth. The objective of this assignment is to develop awareness materials targeted to different key stages of the school curriculum, thereby enabling students to broaden their knowledge on climate change and its impacts.  

FJS signs a contract with Ministry of Finance to carry out a valuation to determine a fair market value of Addu International Airport Private Limited on 10th January 2021. Addu International Airport, previously known as Gan International Airport was used as a domestic airport. Recently the airport was upgraded to international standards in preparation for international flights with the opening of tourist resorts in the area. The airport was run by the Government of Maldives (GoM) along with the technical assistance from Maldives Airports Company Private Limited (MACL) until January 2010. In early 2012, a joint venture was formed between GoM, KASA, MACL and State Trading Organization (STO) to form Addu International Airport. The Valuation exercise will be carried out by our associate valuers, Kanti Karamsey & Co.

FJS concludes tax review engagement carried out for Atmosphere Group of Hotels and Resorts. This engagement covered the corporate office of the group, and the resorts operated and managed by the group. Namely, Ozen by Atmophere at Maadhoo, Oblu by Atmosphere at Helengeli, Oblu Select by Atmosphere at Sangeli and Kanifushi Island Resort in the republic of Maldives. This engagement was carried out on a bi-annual basis for one year, from 01 January 2019 to 31 December 2019 where FJS determined and reported on whether the tax assessment and payment system adopted by the group conforms to the requirements of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) and Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO). FJS is currently engaged in advising the management of Atmosphere Group of Hotels and Resorts on the amendments to the relevant tax laws, regulations and rules issued by the relevant authorities and bodies. FJS is also the representative engaged, on behalf of Atmosphere Core Pvt Ltd and Atmosphere Kani Resort Pvt Ltd, for a case appealed at the Tax Appeal Tribunal.

The Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) engages FJS to develop and establish an eLearning Management System, which can create a robust learning experience similar to that of learning in a classroom. This platform will be used by MRC for short training courses for capacity building of volunteers, members and staff.

The World Bank Group engages FJS to provide logistical support to conduct its Country Opinion Survey in the Maldives. The primary purpose of this Survey is to enable the World Bank to obtain systematic feedback from key stakeholders in the Country, to help enhance its responsiveness and to help improve its capacity to achieve results. FJS will conduct the fieldwork of the survey in Greater Male’ and across the Atolls, covering about 300 respondents across various stakeholder groups including government, local government, civil society organization, bilateral and multilateral organizations, academia and media.

FJS concludes valuation of land owned by MMA to assess the Fair Value, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

The purpose of the valuation is to present a true and fair value of the freehold land of MMA in the Financial Statements.

FJS has been appointed as the external auditors of Life Support Pvt. Ltd. for year ended 31st December 2020 in its Board of Directors’ meeting held on 26th December 2020. 

Life Support is a limited liability company incorporated in the Republic of Maldives on 2nd March 2012. The main objective of Life Support Pvt. Ltd. includes provision of healthcare services, wholesaling and retailing pharmaceutical products, nutraceutical products and medical consumables.
FJS was initially engaged as the auditors of Life Support Pvt. Ltd. during the year 2019 to audit the financial statements for the year ended 31st December 2019.

FJS has been appointed as the financial auditor of Maldives Olympic Committee for the years ended 31st December 2019, 2020 and for the interim period ended 30th June 2021 in their Annual General Assembly held on 26th December 2020.

Maldives Olympic Committee is an independent body formed under the Maldivian Constitution under the law No. 1/2003 (the law governing associations) and is a non-profit, non-government entity created to encourage, promote, organize, control and safeguard Olympic in the Republic of Maldives.

FJS has been previously engaged as the external auditors of Maldives Olympic Committee for the preceding years of 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018.
